Phanuel, in the New Testament, father of Anna the prophetess.

According to the biblical Gospel of Luke, Phanuel was the name of the father of Anna. He is mentioned only once in Luke 2:36. He is of the Tribe of Asher. The name "Phanuel" means "Face of God".
