Dirty on Purpose

Dirty on Purpose is a four-piece band from Brooklyn, NY, whose music is often described as indie pop or shoegaze. Composed of Doug Marvin (drums, vocals), Joseph Jurewicz (guitar, vocals), George Wilson (guitar, vocals) and DJ Boudreau (bass guitar), the band formed in 2002 and started playing around New York. The band's music is guitar-oriented with alternating male and female vocals. The fuzzed-out guitar work is also reminiscent of '90s bands such as My Bloody Valentine and the Jesus and Mary Chain.

In 2008, Dirty on Purpose released a second EP, Like Bees featuring guest female vocals from Jaymay and Holly Miranda. The band then released a free digital-only EP called Dead Volcanoes on RCRDLBL.com.
