If You're Not the One

"If You're Not the One" is a single by Daniel Bedingfield released in 2002. It was number one in the UK charts in December 2002 and reached number 15 in the US.

The song features Bedingfield singing falsetto in the chorus, where he hits the note Eb5 (His Backing Vocal hits the note G5).

In 2005, Shayne Ward covered the song numerous times on The X Factor UK and released it as a B-side on his debut single, "That's My Goal". Following Ward's live performance, Simon Cowell, a judge on The X Factor, said that the song is "one of the best pop songs of all time".

Ace Young covered the song on the American Idol (season 5).

In 2007, Cliff Richard included a cover of the song on his 2007 album, Love... The Album.

In 2008, Bedingfield re-recorded the song's vocals for Sharam's single "The One", which samples "If You're Not The One". It debuted at #4 and reached #1 in the UK Cool Cuts Chart. It has also been remixed by Joachim Garraud & David Guetta.
