Gary White (football)

Gary White is the former technical director and head coach of the Bahamas national football team. He held the position for 7 years, he was one of the longest serving national technical directors in CONCACAF history. He was instrumental in the development of football in the Bahamas.

White signed as Director of Coaching for Snohomish United, Located Just North of Seattle WA, in June 2007. Snohomish is the largest football-soccer club in the Pacific Northwest. During the same year, Gary was named Head Coach for the Washington State Olympic Development Program where he is also a lead instructor for the WSYSA Coaching & Education program. In April 2008 Gary was one of the special guest presenters for the North Wests largest soccer experience, Washington Youth Soccer's SoccerPalooza.

The Bahamas Football Association is now seen as one of the most progressive Football Associations in CONCACAF and are becoming regionally and internationally competitive due to the development programs that the BFA have put into place. During Gary's tenure as head coach the Bahamas Football Association climbed 55 places up the FIFA World Rankings (dec 2006). The BFA's development under Gary White as technical director (1999 -2007) witnessed a huge improvement where the national federation progressed from being a regional minnow to the 9th ranked team in the Caribbean (2006) and the 16th ranked in CONCACAF (2006), and ranked in the top 130 in the world (2006).

White is a United States Soccer Federation National Staff Instructor and NSCAA National Staff Instructor. White was a guest speaker for the NSCAA Soccer Convention in 2004. He is a FIFA course presenter and holds many elite coaching Licenses / Diplomas including the USSF 'A' License, UEFA/FA Coaching License and the NSCAA Premier Diploma.

His previous positions include, national technical director and head coach for the British Virgin Islands Football Association, where he had success during CONCACAF Gold Cup qualifiers and where again his results shot the BVIFA up the FIFA world rakings 28 places in just 8 months(1999). White has been featured in some of the world's most respected media sources, including , BBC World Sport , Fox Sports, 442 Magazine, World Football Magazine, World Class Coaching and US Youth
