Niggle

[nig-uhl]
According to author Kim Kirchhoff, a niggle is a “trifling doubt or objection.” It is a lack of congruence that may appear below the surface of conscious awareness and picked up by the body before the mind registers it. In common English language usage, expressions like “something feels off” or “something is not quite right” often indicate that a niggle may exist.
