She Moves in Her Own Way

"She Moves in Her Own Way" is a song by English band The Kooks and is featured on their debut album, Inside In/Inside Out. It was released 26 June, 2006 as the fifth single from that album, charting at number seven in the UK Singles Chart (see 2006 in British music). The music video features the band in Mexico.

  • A very tongue-in-cheek article by music magazine NME said that The Kooks wrote the song about a friend of theirs that can move by walking on her hands. It is also thought that this song is about Katie Melua, the lead singer's former girlfriend.
  • The song has been parodied in the song "The Kooks are Kooky" by Exactly Midnight.
  • Thanks to new chart rules in the UK, "She Moves In Her Own Way" re-entered the UK Top 40 singles at position number 39 for the week ending Sunday 7 January, 2007.
