They also distribute resilient (vinyl) and vinyl composition tile (VCT) flooring through a partnership with Congoleum.

Brands

Mohawk sells its products through retail stores under the following brand names.

Residential carpet

Mohawk's retail stores have "tiers." Each tier has their own privately labeled names.

  • Mohawk Floorscapes. A Floorscapes store is an independent, locally owned store specifically selected by Mohawk and features the most complete product lines available.
  • Mohawk ColorCenter. A ColorCenter store is independent, locally owned and offers a majority selection of the finest products that Mohawk manufactures and sells.
  • Mohawk Floorz. A Floorz store provides consumers with the best features of a “stock-only” outlet store and a "custom-order" retail store in one independent, locally owned location.
  • Running line. Running line stores are not part of any special retail program. Brand names of smaller carpet mills that were purchased by Mohawk such as Aladdin, Horizon and WundaWeve are featured in these stores as different collections.

Commercial carpet

Mohawk sells carpet under the Mohawk Group. Brands in this group include:

  • Karastan. Karastan carpets include high-end tufted broadloom and modular designs combined with elegant woven collections.
  • Lees. Lees is a performance carpet and offers cutting-edge styling.
  • Bigelow. Bigelow carpets feature woven and tufted broadloom as well as modular designs at a value price.
  • Durkan. Durkan offers a comprehensive product line of inspired and expressive designs.

Mohawk Industries and RICO Act

On April 26, 2006 the Supreme Court heard Mohawk Industries, Inc. v. Williams, which concerned what sort of corporations fell under the scope of RICO. Mohawk Industries had allegedly hired illegal aliens, in violation of RICO. The court will decide whether or not Mohawk Industries, along with recruiting agencies, constitutes an 'enterprise' that can be prosecuted under RICO.
