Saturn kilometric radiation

Saturn kilometric radiation is the name given to intense radio emissions coming from Saturn. These emissions produce eerie sounds, and are believed to be related to the auroras at the poles of the planet.

These sounds have been monitored by the Cassini spacecraft, and are believed to be similar to the emissions produced by the Earth auroras.

Dr. Bill Kurth with the University of Iowa, said "We believe that the changing frequencies are related to tiny radio sources moving up and down along Saturn's magnetic field lines."
