Keeping My Mind on Love is the sixteenth and last album recorded by Motown legend Mary Wells on the Motorcity label. This was Wells' first new record in seven years and much like a lot of the former Motown stars, Wells signed with Motorcity in order to build off the new attention garnered by the sales of classic Motown singles. This was one of the few projects from the label to be released. The label would fold in the early nineties. After the release of this album, Wells promoted it until she was diagnosed with throat cancer, which enable her to lose her speaking and singing voices. Wells would eventually die of her illness in July of 1992 at the tender age of 49.
