Johnna Lee Cummings

Johnna Lee Cummings is an American pop music singer.

Boy Krazy

Cummings was a member of the all-girl group Boy Krazy, with whom she had major dance club success with their singles in the UK and the U.S. "That's What Love Can Do" is their most famous track, and is their only chart hit to date in the U.S., where it hit #18 in 1993. In the UK, Boy Krazy never caught on at all, outside of night clubs.

Solo career

Cummings, having disbanded with her bandmates, signed a record deal in the mid 1990s with PWL International Ltd. Under the name 'Johnna', her 1996 debut single, "Do What You Feel", received much attention and featured remixes by dance music maestro Matt Darey. These mixes were successes in the UK's nightclubs. The radio edit, peaked just outside the Top 40, at #43. The follow-up, another uptempo house-pop track, "In My Dreams", was also a dance club success, yet it stalled at #66 in the UK Singles Chart. An album called Pride was released in 1996. It was comprised entirely of uptempo dance tracks. The press were not welcoming of it, and neither were the record-buying public. It failed to even touch the UK Albums Chart. Nevertheless, Cummings' label released the title track as a single. It was produced by Motiv 8. The single failed to reach the UK Singles Chart, and the same was true of her next single, "Let The Spirit Move You". Cummings was briefly engaged to a former kickboxing champion, Mike Vieira.

Johnna's current lifestyle is chronicled in the short documentary, Expect Less.
