Ice island

Ice island

An Ice island is not a true island, but is instead an iceberg that has run aground on a shoal and that is typically stable for a decade or more, until its thickness has diminished to a point at which it is able to float free again and drift away into the open sea.

The best and perhaps only example of an ice island is Pobeda Ice Island.
