Grane, Nordland

Grane is also a commune of the Drôme département in France.
is a municipality in the county of Nordland, Norway.

Grane was separated from Vefsn July 1, 1927.

The name

The municipality (originally the parish) is named after the farm Grane ("Grane" 1661), since the first church was built there (in 1860). The name is derived from the word gran f 'spruce'.


The coat-of-arms is from modern times (1980). It shows a salmon.
