Not to be confused with Greenland.

Grønland is a place in central Oslo, Norway. It is served by several tram and bus lines, as well as the Oslo T-bane (subway) at the Grønland subway station.

Grønland is situated on the east side of Akerselva, 5-10 minutes walking distance from Oslo central station and downtown Oslo. Grønland stretches from Grünerløkka down to the ocean by the middelalderparken beach area.

Through the last 20 years Grønland has developed into a multicultural melting pot. The Grønland area contains stores carrying goods from all over the world, as well as mosques, bars and multi-cultural restaurants. In the recent times Grønland has become rather trendy and popular with continuously rising pricing on apartments. Grønland is regarded as one of the more up and coming parts of the city, especially with the coming new borough of Bjørvika and the new Opera nearby.

The price of beer in pubs and bars is much cheaper in Grønland than in most other Oslo bars, typically about 40 percent less.
