The one with Rachel's Going Away Party (Friends Episode)

The One with Rachel's Going Away Party is an episode in the popular long-running American Sitcom Friends. It was the 16th episode of the 10th season, and the penultimate episode of the series, preceding the hour-long special entitled "The Last One"

It was broadcast on on April 29, 2004.

Plot

As Rachel prepares to move to Paris for her new job, Monica decides to throw a going away party. At the emotional gathering, Rachel says goodbye to everyone individualy. After she has spoken to Phoebe, Monica, Joey and Chandler, she goes to bed. Ross is upset that he didn't get a goodbye and tells Rachel that he deserved one. Rachel goes to his apartment to tell him that the reason she didn't say goodbye was that he meant more to her than anyone else, and that he was too important to her, contrary to Ross' beliefs. The pair then share a romantic kiss.

Meanwhile, Monica is ordering everyone to pack boxes as Monica and Chandler are moving soon. The boys play games instead and Chandler finds a pair of handcuffs in a bedroom. He wonders whom they belong to, before finding pictures of Monica's grandmother using them.

At the end of the episode, Erika, the woman carrying Monica and Chandler's baby, starts going into labour. The three of them rush off to the hospital to have a baby, which, along with Rachel and Ross kissing, is a cliffhanger leading up to the final episode.

Monica: (About Chandler and Ross hitting Joey, who bubble-wrapped his head) You call this packing? Chandler: We're taking a break. Monica: From? Chandler: Jumping on the bed.

Monica: Shouldn't you be packing? Rachel: I'm all finished. Monica: Oh, sure. And after I took a shower this morning, I just threw my towel on the floor. Oh God, it hurts to even joke about it!

Chandler: Mon, I think I know who those cuffs were for. Monica: How? Chandler: Well, I was cleaning out the closet when I found pictures of them being used. Monica: Oh, my God, let me see. Joey: Who's the dirty old lady? Chandler: Monica's grandmother. All: Wow! Monica: Whoa, Nana liked it rough!

Ross: What do I gotta do to get a goodbye? Huh? Be your best friend? Huh? Go out with you? Have a baby with you? Huh? Oh, wait a minute, wait a minute... I've done all that!
