In English history, the events of 1688–89 that resulted in the deposition of James II and the accession of his daughter Mary II and her husband William III. James's overt Roman Catholicism, his suspension of the legal rights of dissenters, and the prospect of a Catholic heir to the throne brought discontent to a head, which caused opposition leaders to invite the Protestant William of Orange to bring an army to redress the nation's grievances. The support remaining for James dwindled, and he fled to France. The Convention Parliament asked William and Mary to rule jointly and set out the Bill of Rights.

Glorious: The Singles 1997-2007 is a compilation album by Australian singer-songwriter Natalie Imbruglia, celebrating ten years since the release of her debut album Left of the Middle. It was released on September 10, 2007 in the United Kingdom and on September 22, 2007 in Australia. The album consists of all nine singles released from Imbruglia's past three studio albums as well as five new songs including the single "Glorious". A limited edition comes with a bonus DVD consisting of Imbruglia's music videos. The album peaked at number 5 on the UK Album Charts. It sold 33,000 copies worldwide in its first week, and has sold in excess of 500,000 copies overall. It was certified Gold in the United Kingdom on 12 October, 2007
