The Commodore 64 version was programmed independently by John Darnell. After the original project had been abandoned, work continued on the C64 version which was released as Star Paws. This was subsequently ported to the ZX Spectrum.
In a 1999 interview, Matthew Smith described the original Spectrum version starting life as a version of the Road Runner cartoons. It then had to be reworked when Software Projects failed to get rights to the title.
