The Family Way is a soundtrack recording composed by
Paul McCartney, released in 1967. The album is the soundtrack to a 1966
film of the same name, directed by
Roy Boulting. The album was released under the name
The George Martin Orchestra, The Family Way (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack).
The Family Way won a Ivor Novello Award in 1967 and was remastered and released on CD in 1996.
This recording is sometimes considered to be the first Beatles solo album, but most critics consider George Harrison's Wonderwall Music to be the first, even though it was released in November 1968.
