False Impression is a mystery novel by English author Jeffrey Archer, first published in February 2006 by Macmillan (ISBN 1405032553).

The novel concerns an FBI agent, the protagonist, who attempts to keep a banker, the antagonist, from stealing valuables, including a rare Van Gogh painting, from a British noble family. The protagonists travel to several cities to prevent the heist, including London, New York, Bucharest, and Tokyo. The protagonist escapes the September 11, 2001 attacks and later must flee a female assassin named "the Kitchen-Knife-Killer". The novel includes historical information on the September 11 attacks, Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceauşescu's regime, and Van Gogh's severed ear.
