In the human
respiratory system,
eupnea (
Greek eupnoia; from
eu, well +
pnoia, breath) is normal, unlaboured
ventilation, sometimes known as
quiet breathing or
resting respiration. In eupnea, expiration employs only the
elastic recoil of the
lungs.
