The
Draft Beer Party was a
political party in
Prince Edward Island,
Canada. It ran one candidate only in the
1979 provincial election for the office of Member of the
Legislative Assembly, when Carl Borden Campbell was defeated in the
riding of
5th Queens, which represented the western half of
Charlottetown. Campbell received a total of 200 votes, losing to
Progressive Conservative candidate
James Matthew Lee, the future leader of that party and
Premier of Prince Edward Island, who received 4,968 votes.
