Ambah is a city and a municipality in Morena district in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India.

Geography

Ambah is located at . It has an average elevation of 161 metres (528 feet). This area is located near the Chambal Ghat. It is famous for it ancient fort and Kakarmath temple. ambah is very beautiful & developed township of morena distt. pg college of ambah is one of the best college in madhya pradesh. The nearest railway station is Morena (33KM from Ambah) which is on the way to Delhi.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, Ambah had a population of 36,443. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Ambah has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 61% of the males and 39% of females literate. 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.It is also famous for 'Banjara Kua' which has been build overnight. ambah is also belong to tomarghar. it means tomar cast is dominating and powarful. it was formerly known as AMBRISH NAGARI.ambah is a developed township of morena than other towns.the famous tample of shiv ji named KAKANMATH is in ambah block. this tample was made by chandel kings.
