Brevity is a single-panel newspaper comic strip created by Guy Endore-Kaiser and Rodd Perry. Brevity originally began on Comics Sherpa (a site which helps beginning comic strips make their work public over the web). It debuted in 55 newspapers on January 3 2005. Today, Brevity is published in over 130 newspapers in the USA and Canada. There are currently two published collection of Brevity comics called "Brevity" and "Brevity 2".
The comic strip's name presumably comes from the William Shakespeare quote "Brevity is the soul of wit."
The comic itself is somewhat different from many other comics in papers today, though it bears many similarities to Gary Larson's strip The Far Side. It is significantly more contemporary than most other syndicated comics such as The Family Circus and the humor is more sparse, in most cases, and often makes obscure cultural references.
