Ivan Putrov

Ivan Putrov is a principal dancer in The Royal Ballet. Educated at the Kiev Ballet School and the Royal Ballet School, he joined the company in 1998 and became a principal in 2002.

Putrov was previously a principal at the Kiev Ballet. He has received notice for roles such as Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake and Lensky in John Cranko's Onegin, for which The Guardian praised his "captivating blitheness.

In 2006 Putrov suffered an injury in an onstage fall, which led to a lengthy leave from dancing. He has since returned to the stage without apparent lasting effects.
