Magnum Opus (Latin for great work) is the cultural fest of BVM, Girinagar. It is an inter-school contest involving many separate competitions. It is conducted annually by the students of the XIth standard.
The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan schools believe that there are elements in all cultures which transcend all barriers and knit people together. Its ideal is "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" which when translated to English mean "The world is one Family".
Culture is given strong emphasis and the students are taught to be modern and global in their outlook without forgetting their roots. True to its goal of revitalizing Dharma or Moral Law in its threefold aspects of Truth, Love and Beauty, the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan schools are ceaselessly striving to carry forward India's ageless message of Faith, Self-discipline and dedication. The main purpose of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan schools are to provide a modern bridge to span the past, the present and the future, built on the strong foundation of the fundamental values of life.
Bhavanites, as the students are popularly called, pride themselves on being Indian and are well known for their respect not only for the country and what it stands for but also towards themselves which, they consider an essential part of being "Indian".
The motto of the school is "Aa no badraaha kartavyo yanthu vishwatahah" (Devanagari: आः नो भद्राः कर्तव्यो यन्तु विश्वतः) which translated to English mean "Let Noble thoughts come to us from every side"
Victory to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan!
Victory to our Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan!
She lights up the lamp of Knowledge and Action
Spreads the Nectarine Wisdom
From here flows the ambrosial stream of love
For the welfare of the world
She spreads the glory of Sanskrit
Here and abroad
She is the confluence of Truth, Goodness and Beauty
(Which are) dear to Bharat
The abode of culture and fine arts
She brings out literary classics
She is a sacred shrine fostering
The sciences, arts and skills
All her works are a dedication unto the Lord
Sanctified, they bring prosperity to man
She dedicates her whole being always
For unity, love and bhakti!
