Founded in 2002, Marlin & Associates (M&A) is a boutique investment banking and strategic consulting firm focused on providing highly strategic, transaction-related services to U.S. and international middle-market firms engaged in technology, information, on-line media and business-services. The firm is based in New York City with a Washington, DC office and representation in Europe. Marlin & Associates' professionals have advised on over 200 successfully completed transactions in the technology and information services sector. History

Marlin & Associates was founded in 2002 by Ken Marlin, a former Marine officer and an industry-veteran who has spent the past 20+ years leading and advising firms that provide technology and database information services. He has been CEO of four different technology firms and has bought, sold and raised growth capital for his own companies, as well as advising dozens of others. In 1997, Ken Marlin and his partners sold his last company, Telesphere Corporation, to Bridge Information Systems, where he became Executive Vice President. Immediately before founding M&A, Ken Marlin led the Business Information and Internet practice at the media merchant bank and private equity fund Veronis Suhler Stevenson.

Ken Marlin is quoted regularly in publications ranging from Business Week and Forbes, to The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The International Herald Tribune and other publications worldwide. He has been the subject of interviews on business radio and television programs on CBS, BBC Worldwide, CNBC and Fox Business Channel.

Since its founding, Marlin & Associates has advised on transactions involving some of the largest and most significant technology and information companies in the world including IBM, Digital River, NYSE/Euronext, Thomson Reuters, FactSet, Orc Software, LineData Services, Fidelity National, Fiserv, and Bloomberg. (Marlin & Associates may be the only investment bank to have advised on the successful sale of a company to Bloomberg.)

Operations

Marlin & Associates is an M&A boutique that advises companies at the intersection of technology and media. The firm advises both buyers and sellers of mid-sized companies that supply other businesses with technology, content, capabilities, and software. The firm’s headquarters are on the 36th floor of 600 Lexington Avenue, in New York City. It also has an office in Washington, DC, and representation in Europe. The firm has advised clients based in the US, Canada, Australia, Britain, Germany, The Netherlands, Norway and Switzerland and has worked with counterparties in more than 10 countries around the world.
