Hassan al-Amri

Hassan al-Amri (حسن العمري) (born 1916) He was born in a Yemeni village called Al-Amaryah -- his surname indicates that, this village is in Al-Hada District. He was the Prime Minister of the Yemen Arab Republic five terms between 1964 and 1971.

Al-Amri's first three terms were served under President Abdullah as-Sallal. The dates of these terms were:

His final two terms were under President Abdul Rahman al-Iryani.

On August 29, 1971 he shot to death a photographer during an altercation. The President, Abdul Rahman al-Iryani, removed him from the Prime Ministership, as well as from his command of the army. Al-Amri then lived in exile in Lebanon.
