La'am was an
Israeli political party made up of the "Free Center" (which was a splinter group which left
Herut), the
State List and the
Movement for Greater Israel which supported
Israeli settlement in the
West Bank and
Gaza. Prior to the
1973 Knesset election, La'am joined with
Gahal to form the
Likud list and remained a faction in Likud for several years. La'am was an economically
liberal group which opposed state intervention in the economy.
