Accidents and safety
- Ejection seat, safety device typically used to escape an aircraft in-flight
- To be forcefully thrown from a moving vehicle, such as in a car accident
Sports
- Ejection (sports), the act of removing a player or team official from a game, usually for misconduct or other rules violation or for fighting.
Medicine and science
- Acoustic droplet ejection, a method of moving fluid, without physical contact, using ultrasound
- Coronal mass ejection, ejection of material from a sun's corona
- Ejection fraction, the fraction of blood pumped with each heart beat
- Particles ejected during the formation of an impact crater or volcanic eruption are known as ejecta.
Firearms
- Automatic and semi-automatic weapons have a cycle of opreation, one step of which being ejection. It occurs when the spent cartidge is ejected from the weapon throught the ejection port.
- Shotguns are configured to eject spent cartridges in the following manner: after firing a shell, the operator racks the action of the shotgun rearward, causing the spent cartridge to eject from the ejection port.
