Cladophylls also called cladodes are photosynthetic branches or portions of a stem that resemble and function as a leaf, as in the asparagus. Cladophylls are flattened, modified stems that resemble leaves, many cacti (especially Opuntia) and structurally similar plants have cladophylls.
