Zeb King

Zeb King (Zebulon, born ca. 1975 in Victoria, British Columbia) spent much of his childhood in Alert Bay, BC. Zeb was first elected as a Councillor to the municipality of Central Saanich, British Columbia in 2002, and later re-elected in 2005. From 2002 – 2005 Zeb served as the Chairperson for the municipality’s Community and Protective Services Committee, as well as the liaison to First Nations.

Councillor King has served as a representative to the Saanich Peninsula Wastewater Committee, Saanich Peninsula Water Commission, Capital Regnional District Water Commission, and the regional Solid Waste Advisory Committee. He has also served as Chairperson for the District’s Water and Waste Managemnet Committee.

In addition, Mr. King has served as a Consumer Representative with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA).

The maxim, “think globally, act locally” is exemplified by Councillor King's actions. Climate change must be addressed at the local level and not only through international conventions. This demonstrates the relevance of local leadership to the global community. Municipal solutions are “big time” solutions for international problems.

Zeb King has spent time in South Korea and Burkina Faso. He has also immersed himself in Quebec in order to learn the culture and French language.

Education Zeb King has a Master of Public Administration degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Victoria.
