Woodmere is a census-designated place (CDP) in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 13,058 at the 2000 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.8 square miles (10.0 km²), of which, 3.7 square miles (9.7 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.3 km²) of it (2.86%) is water.
There were 3,722 households out of which 55.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.1% were married couples living together, 22.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 11.2% were non-families. 8.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 1.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.49 and the average family size was 3.67.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 35.6% under the age of 18, 10.0% from 18 to 24, 31.3% from 25 to 44, 20.1% from 45 to 64, and 3.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 29 years. For every 100 females there were 93.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.2 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $44,892, and the median income for a family was $45,378. Males had a median income of $31,931 versus $22,960 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $14,494. About 11.5% of families and 12.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 18.3% of those under age 18 and 5.8% of those age 65 or over.
