Who Bob, What Pants?, known as What Ever Happened to Spongebob?, is a TV special of the Nickelodeon TV series SpongeBob SquarePants. The special is set to air in the US on October 13, 2008. A DVD of the same name is set to be released after the TV premiere, featuring the special and 5 bonus episodes: "Goo Goo Gas," "The Two Faces of Squidward," "SpongeHenge," "Banned in Bikini Bottom" and "Stanley S. SquarePants".

Plot

SpongeBob wants to spend time with his friends, but when he ends up being nothing but a nuisance, he decides it's time to pack up and leave Bikini Bottom forever. On his way out of town, SpongeBob takes a bad fall off of a cliff and bumps his head, knocking him unconscious. When he wakes up, he finds himself in a strange new city called New Kelp City (a spoof of New York City), and has developed a case of total amnesia as well. Soon after, he hears that a group of thugs has outlawed all bubble-blowing in the city, so he uses his bubble-blowing skills to run them out of New Kelp City, and is then made the city's mayor for his actions. Meanwhile, after a long period of time of not seeing him, Patrick, Sandy, Mr. Krabs, and Squidward decide to go and find SpongeBob to get him home, but when they do find him, however, they find that he has no memory of ever meeting them before. Now, SpongeBob must decide whether to stay in New Kelp City as its hero or to go back home with his friends.
