Wardington is a village in Oxfordshire, five miles from central Banbury.

The village consists of Lower Wardington and Upper Wardington, and the parish borders Northamptonshire. The population is around 550.

There is an early English church in the village and two pubs, the Hare and Hounds and the Plough. There is a nursing home in Lower Wardington called Wardington House Nursing Home. The Wardington Church of England Primary School, which was located near the church, closed in 1991 and has since been redeveloped into residential property. Wardington was the scene of some of the fighting at the Battle of Cropredy Bridge, which took place in 1644 during the English Civil War , and is also close to the scene of the Battle of Edgecote Moor.

The Village

The focal point of the village, situated between the lower and upper parts, is the Elizabethan manor, Wardington Manor, occupied by Baron Wardington. The manor was severely damaged by fire in 2004 and restoration work is under way.

Bob Peck, the actor best known for his role in the film Jurassic Park, was for a time a resident of the village.
