Vietcong: Fist Alpha is an expansion pack for the computer game Vietcong. It was released in February 2004.
It is a prequel to Vietcong, occurring three months before the events of that game. In Fist Alpha you play the main character of Sergeant First Class Douglas Warren. All the members of the team from the original Vietcong are present initially except for Le Duy Nhut (Nick). The team's pointman and translator is Vietnamese Sergeant Nham Nguyen. He is killed in action during the attack on the Nui Pek base camp on 15 May 1967 and then he is replaced by Nhut.
The fate of SFC Douglas Warren is mentioned at the end of the game in a paragraph, but it is also mentioned in the Arrival mission on 27 June 1967 from the original Vietcong. As his replacement; Steve R. Hawkins is being airlifted into Nui Pek base, C.J. Hornster talks about the circumstances which led to Douglas's death. He was killed in action by a single AK-47 shot to the head during a night ambush at a village where the Vietcong had been stealing rice from the local villagers. This is in slight controversy with the ending text in Fist Alpha, which states that Douglas was actually shot by a vietcong sniper from behind. Enemy snipers in Vietcong usually use Dragunov SVD or Mosin Nagant rifles, not AK-47's.
The expansion introduced Bayonets to many of the games original weapons (noted below and here). In addition to this, a few side specific weapons were also added:

< Vietcong: Fist Alpha added a number of maps, to play in the quick fight mode, and to play on numerous multiplayer modes. Many of them use the setting of the missions of the single player campaign.
