She also competed at the 1987 Survivor Series, teaming with Moolah, future WWF women's champion Rockin' Robin, and the Jumping Bomb Angels against Sherri Martel, Leilani Kai, Judy Martin, Donna Christanello, and Dawn Marie. During the match, Martel jammed Velvet's neck following a suplex maneuver and the visibly stunned McIntyre sat on the canvas for a few seconds to collect herself. Martel actually leaned down to see if she was alright and then proceeded with the match. Despite back and neck pain from the botched move, McIntyre continued and even pinned Martel with a victory roll later in the match. She was eventually eliminated by Leilani Kai.
Pinning the women's champion once again vaulted McIntyre into the No. 1 contender position. She feuded with Sherri Martel for the WWF Women's Title during the remainder of 1987 and throughout 1988 but was unsuccessful.
By 1990, the women's division in the WWF was again on hiatus. McIntyre continued to wrestle but never resurfaced in any of the remaining major North American promotions, nor did she compete in the new women's promotion the LPWA.
She is currently retired and raising her twin children. McIntyre does home crafts and sells them.
