Uraeotyphlus oxyurus

Uraeotyphlus oxyurus is a species of caecilian endemic to the Western Ghats of India.

Description

This species has a thick body and a narrow head and short tail. The body is dark brown in colour and the tail tip is whitish. Chin and throat are light brown. The eyes are distinct and surrounded by a white ring. The tentacle is placed close to and below the nostrils. The nostrils are visible from above. Found in southern Western Ghats in Kerala.
