First Baptist Church is an
Evangelical Protestant church located in
Ukiah, California. First Baptist is part of the
American Baptist denomination. Founded nearly 150 years ago in 1859
the church has had three major upgrades of their facilities.
Ministers
Senior pastor Dennis Beatty is from Prescott, Arizona. He earned his D. Min. from
Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California; Beatty also holds a M.Div. from
Western Conservative Baptist Theological Seminary in Portland, Oregon. He has written a book entitled the Essential New Testament or ENT.
The pastor emeritus is William C. Duncan.
The associate pastor is Mike Dobbs; MA from Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary The youth minister is Steven Zarlengo, who graduated from the Criswell College (BA) and Dallas Theological Seminary. He has also written a book called Daughter of Zion, Jerusalem's Past, Present, Future.
First Baptist Church Youth
First Baptist Church of Ukiah's youth gather weekly on Sunday mornings from roughly 9:40 to 10:40, thus preceding regular Sunday service, which begins at 10:50. Additionally, the youth gather on Wednesday evenings from 6:40 to 8:30 in a Bible study group called "Refuge." These gatherings are spent in
Bible Study. They take place in "The Shack," which is the new and official youth group building. It is located north of First Baptist Church's gymnasium and is alongside the church-owned house, where church faculty have their offices.

All youth are welcome to these meetings, regardless of religious affiliation.
