von Euler, Ulf, 1905-83, Swedish physiologist and pharmacologist, Ph.D. Karolinska Institute, 1930. He was a professor at the Karolinska Institute from 1930 to 1971. Von Euler won the 1970 Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine with Bernard Katz and Julius Axelrod for their work on the storage, release, and inactivation of neurotransmitters. Von Euler discovered that norepinephrine serves as a neurotransmitter at the nerve terminals of the sympathetic nervous system. The combined work of the three Nobelists provided important basic information about how messages are transmitted between nerve cells, paving the way for future research on nervous and mental disorders.
Dr. Ulf-Dietrich Reips is currently an assistant of Prof. Klaus Jonas and lecturer ('Oberassistent') at the Psychology Department of the University of Zurich, Switzerland.

He is working on Internet-based psychological experimenting (a method used in experimental psychology). In 1994 and 1995 he founded the Web Experimental Psychology Lab, the first laboratory for conducting real experiments on the World Wide Web. In 2005, Reips was elected the first non-North American president of the Society for Computers in Psychology (SCiP).
