The
Tripartite Accord (
Arabic: الإتفاق الثلاثي) was an agreement between
Lebanese feuding factions, the
Shiite Amal movement, the
Druze Progressive Socialist Party and the
Christian Lebanese Forces. It was signed in
Damascus,
Syria on
December 28,
1985, by
Nabih Berri,
Walid Jumblat, and
Elie Hobeika on behalf of the three militias, respectively. The Tripartite Accord was supposed to put an end to the war and give strong influence to Syria regarding Lebanese matters. The agreement never came into effect due to
Hobeika ousting on
January 15,
1986, by
Samir Geagea and
Karim Pakradouni.
