Tingala sa Pugad is the second indie film starring the actress Heart Evangelista. Her first is the not-yet-released Ay Ayeng, also directed by Ed Palmos.

Shooting began on December 22, 2007 and will end in April 2008.

The film tells the story of a balikbayan girl who wants to discover her roots in her hometown only to find out that her real father underwent surgery to conceal his identity as a rebel.

Trivia

The Ernesto Tagunding character was originally offered to Christopher de Leon. He was later replaced by Phillip Salvador. It finally went to actor Jay Manalo.

The screenplay, written by Camila Elayda, has the character of Heart Evangelista speaking in English throughout the movie.

The producer of the film is an ardent fan of the young actress. She is not just an ordinary fan though. She happens to be related to the late writer-director Luciano B. Carlos, the same director who did many fine comedies that starred Dolphy, Maricel Soriano, etc.
