Telem, Har Hebron

Telem, Har Hebron

Telem (תלם) is an Israeli settlement located in the southern West Bank area of Judea, west of Kiryat Arba, and under the jurisdiction of the Har Hebron Regional Council.

The village was established in 1982 as a pioneer Nahal military outpost and demilitarized only a year later when turned over to residential purposes in the form of a non-religious moshav with the assistance of the Amana settlement organization. In 2004, a group of about twenty religious families joined the village in order to strengthen and build a mixed community. In the centre of the village, a beit midrash was established and named the 'Netivot Dror Yeshiva' in memory of Dror Weinberg, an Israel Defence Forces army colonel, as of 2007, the highest ranking Israeli soldier to be killed in the Second Intifada.
