Tadashi Yamashita

Tadashi Yamashita (born 1942 in Japan) is an American martial arts instructor and actor. He was born in mainland Japan but raised in Okinawa, where he earned a black belt at the age of 16. At 24 he moved to the United States where he eventually gained citizenship.

He has appeared in such films as The Octagon, American Ninja, Enter the Dragon, Gymkata, and Lethal Weapon 4, and on television shows including Kung Fu and Knight Rider.

He holds the ranks of 9th Dan in Kobayashi Shorin-Ryu Karatedo and also in Zen Okinawan kobudō, and the title of Hanshi.
