Surefire are a
Brooklyn based rock band formerly signed to
Lizard King Records. The band built a strong following supporting acts such as
Ambulance Ltd,
America (band),
Arctic Monkeys,
The Bravery,
Brendan Benson,
Diamond Nights,
Mando Diao,
Priestess (band) and
The Subways, received coverage in
Teen Vogue and
New York Magazine and performed on the
Fearless Music television show. Surefire contributed the track "Surrender" to the
War Child (charity) compilation
Help-a Day in the Life. The band is working on their first album to be released in Fall 2008 on
Newkirk Records.
Lead singer/songwriter Ben Rice also runs a studio in Brooklyn called Newkirk Studios that has recorded the Mooney Suzuki and Reno Bo amongst others.
