There are over eight million passengers per year, a passenger increase of approximately ten percent. They have 119 buses and 320 employees.

As well as Chesterfield and its boroughs, they also run certain buses to Bolsover, Clay Cross, Alfreton, Matlock, Dronfield, Sheffield, and Eckington. They also operate express coaches to Sheffield. Recently, Stagecoach in Mansfield and Trent Barton began operating the new Pronto service between Chesterfield, Mansfield and Nottingham.

To assist the elderly and disabled, many routes have low-floor buses.

On 3 May 2005 Stagecoach opened a new coach station in Chesterfield (on the site of the old one) for their express routes, and also for National Express routes.

Although most routes operate all week, some routes do not operate on Sundays, and some only operate on Sundays. On bank holidays, a Sunday service is operated.

From 28 October 2007, Stagecoach in Chesterfield altered some routes, with route numbers 95 and 252 being omitted.

On 26th October 2008, Stagecoach in Chesterfield will be altering some routes in the Chesterfield area:

1/1a - Service to be withdrawn and partially replaced by new route 80

3/3a - Route change, Chesterfield - Royal Hospital via Hasland introduced which partially replaces the former 1/1a. The Chesterfield - Brimington section of route 3 will be partially replaced by new route 80

80 - New service to operate between Yew Tree Estate - Chesterfield - Brimington - Staveley - Duckmanton, replacing part of 1/1a/3/84

81/81a/81b - Services to be renumbered as 82

82 - Service combines with the 83 to form a half hourly service, new 82 introduced to replace 81

83 - Service combined with the old 82 to form a half hourly service between Chesterfield - Arkwright - Bolsover - Hillstown

84 - Service withdrawn and replaced by 80

They are the main service changes but some minor changes to most routes will take place too.
