Spring Break '83 is an upcoming Scott Spiegel-directed comedy set for a 2008 release.
As of February 14 2008, the majority of the extras had still not been paid. The film was scheduled to finish filming in Los Angeles, California in 2008.
Funding for Spring Break '83 apparently used telemarketing sales of dubious 'securities' in several limited liability corporations. On March 6, 2008, the California Department of Corporations served Big Sky Motion Pictures, Spring Break Productions, Rand Chortkoff and Mars Callahan with a 'Desist and Refrain Order' ordering them to 'refrain from the further offer or sale in the State of California of securities, including, but not limited to limited liability company interests in Spring Break '83 Production L.L.C, Spring Break '83 Distribution, L.L.C., or Big Sky Motion Pictures, L.L.C. ... for the protection of investors...'
As of August 26 2008, Big Sky Productions posted a letter on their website from their lawyers to the Louisiana Director of Film and Television that stated all extras had been paid.
