Siward's Howe, also known as
Heslington Hill, is a
terminal moraine located in
York. It is fabled for its imposing
water tower, rumours of
pagan rites taking place on it, and
Siward himself, the
Danish warrior romanticised in
Macbeth, rumoured to be buried beneath the hill.
It is the contemporary site of much of the campus of the University of York.
