Established in January 2001 through the amalgamation of Swanbourne and Hollywood Senior High Schools, the College currently caters for approximately 1,270 students from Year 8 to Year 12. Its motto is "Excellence, Self and Community".
Shenton College was the 5th best school in Western Australia in the 2006 TEE, and the highest score of a Western Australian public high school.
The College buildings are curved, of a light limestone with colourful interior walls. There are plants and trees dotted about everywhere and several courtyards and grassed areas within the main building areas. There are pieces of local art (a requirement of the College's construction) in various places around the school grounds. There are also two main ovals, one in front (near the Senior School) and one near the Middle School. In a joint enterprise with the University of Western Australia and other assorted agencies there is also a new artificial hockey turf near Gallipoli and Borneo houses. m.p and m.d yeooowww :)
Shenton college is also a parttaker in the Department of Education and Training's ATP Program who's student are based in Borneo House.
