Senan Connell is an Irish Gaelic footballer and Secondary School Teacher at St. Declans College, Cabra, Dublin 7, who is from Dublin. He plays his club football for Na Fianna on Dublins Northside. Connell is approaching the end of his inter-county career(as of 2006). When he was a regular for Dublin, he played at either half-forward or right half-forward. Senan was part of the Leinster Senior Football winning Dublin sides in 2002 and 2005. Connell won the Dublin football championship with his club Na Fianna in 1999 against St Brigids and went on to win the Leinster Club footbal championship only to be eventually defeated in the All-Ireland club final against Crossmaglen Rangers of Armagh on St Patricks day March 17 2000. Senan was announced as player of the tournament in the 2003 All-Ireland Sevens final against Aghada of Cork despite finishing the 2003 final on the losing side. He was educated at St Declans CBS.
Tragedy struck Senan on 28 December 2006, when his father collapsed after suffering a heart attack whilst out walking and was pronounced dead on scene.
