Repo! The Genetic Opera is a 2006 short film directed by Darren Lynn Bousman. This 10-minute trailer was shot to promote the real film Repo! The Genetic Opera. The trailer starred Michael Rooker and Shawnee Smith.

Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008) Film

In 2007 shooting of the offical film began in Canada. It will be released by Lionsgate Films and as of now will be getting a limited release.

Stage Play

Repo! The Genetic Opera before becoming a movie was originally a stage play created by Darren Smith and Terrance Zdunich. The ten minute opera was titled "The Necromerchant's Debt" which told the macarbe tale of a Graverobber and the Genetic Repoman. Due to the big success of the small opera Smith and Zdunich went on to make "Repo! The Genetic Opera" which was a stage play thay played in it's own theatre in New York in 2002. Darren Lynn Bousman who directed the feature film directed the first stage play.
