Reno Anoa'i

Reno Anoa'i is an American professional wrestler. He is perhaps best known for his appearances in Italy with the Nu-Wrestling Evolution promotion under the ring name Black Pearl.

Career

Anoa'i trained as a wrestler under his uncle, Afa Anoa'i, debuting in 2002 as Reno the Black Pearl. He went on to wrestle for the Californian Empire Wrestling Federation and the Pennsylvanian World Xtreme Wrestling promotion. He eventually shortened his ring name to Black Pearl.

In 2005, Anoa'i journeyed to Italy and began wrestling for his cousin Rikishi's Nu-Wrestling Evolution promotion. In NWE, Anoa'i adopted the gimmick of an aristocrat, claiming to be "The Count of California". On November 25, 2005 in Naples, he won a tournament to become the first NWE Heavyweight Champion.

  • Wrestled in Australia in November 2007 for an international event for American promotion, NHPW (New Horizon Pro Wrestling). He had a singles match against Australian pro wrestler Jose Del Santo (Adrian Ambrose) as well as the main event which was a six man tag, with Rikishi and Gangrel against Australian Wrestlers.

Personal life

Reno is married to Tiffany Smith, with whom he has a daughter, Vaughan.

Reno is the son of Tumua Anoa'i, who is the eldest brother of Afa and Sika Anoa'i aka The Wild Samoans making him a cousin of virtually every pacific islander to ever set foot in professional wrestling.
